The Georgian Wildlife Photographers Association (GWPA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to capturing and preserving the natural beauty of Georgia. Our mission is to unite professional and amateur photographers to document the country’s unique biodiversity, from avian species in the wetlands to large predators in the mountains.
We operate in close collaboration with professional zoologists and leading environmental organizations to ensure our visual documentation supports scientific research, monitoring, and active wildlife protection initiatives. By bridging the gap between artistic photography and conservation science, we provide a vital resource for habitat preservation. Through the power of visual storytelling and these strategic partnerships, we aim to promote environmental awareness and support conservation efforts across the region.
Our Goals
Advocacy & Awareness: We use the power of photography to promote wildlife conservation and raise public awareness about the importance of our ecosystems.
Education & Mentorship: We provide educational resources and practical field advice to help photographers at all levels improve their skills and ethical standards in the wild.
Collaborative Projects: We organize joint photography expeditions and conservation-focused projects to document Georgia’s diverse landscapes.
Exhibitions & Competitions: We facilitate opportunities for our members to showcase their work in professional competitions and public exhibitions.
Biodiversity Support: We actively support initiatives dedicated to protecting local biodiversity through visual documentation and partnership with scientific organizations
